MCC VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER MR. MATTHEW L. BOHN VISIT MCA-T AND MCC COMPACT II

Today 19th November, 2014 MCC Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Mr. Matthew L. Bohn paid a visit to MCA Tanzania to share ideas on smooth transition of Compact I to Compact II. During that short meeting Mr. Matthew was briefed by the CEO Mr. Bernard S. Mchomvu on the success and achievements of Compact one projects implemented within five years of compact agreement. On the other hand Mr. Laston Msongole, Coordinator of MCC Compact II provided a brief on the development of Compact II program that will start soon focusing on  energy Sector. 

The visit of the Vice President is a great opportunity to Tanzania as the Government has just signed the 609g grant and implementation agreement with MCC in November 14, 2014. The United States Governement, through the Millennium Challenge Corporation agreed to provide $ 9.78 millions for the development of high-impact investment projects in Tanzania's energy sector. The agreement was siigned by MCC's Vice president of Compact Operations, Kamran Khan, and Tanzania's Minister of Finance, Hon. Saada Mkuya Salum (MP).

The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer was accompanied by Mr. Jay Scheerer, Country Team Leader, Tanzania II Millennium Challenge Corporation in Washington.
